EventsPast, Present and Future
One of the best ways to keep you motivated is to have a Fitness goal. SHAPE UP regularly enters a team into local events, both for fun and charity. This provides you with a variety of ways in which to challenge yourself, and with a whole team behind you, ends up being lots of fun too.

For the 7th year SHAPE UP will be organising the Terry Fox run to take place, starting at the Greely Community Centre.
In total we have now raised over $35,000 for the Terry Fox foundation, proceeds to go towards cancer research.
This year we hope to make this a bigger and more successful event that ever before, and have the Greely community join us in such a fabulous and valuable cause

Last year we entered the Mud run (see pics below), and in spite of it hammering down with rain, and the course being a complete mud bath (wasn’t that what we signed up for? ), this year we are looking for a little ‘cleaner’ fun.
The 5k Foam Fest, is set in the picturesque, if somewhat challenging setting of Edelweiss ski slopes, has 22 of some of the most exciting obstacles in the world including the worlds largest inflatable waterslide, slip and slides, and mucky mud pits! Combined with 2.5 million cubic feet of foam that are pumped out at each event we’re bound to have some good, clean fun! The perfect opportunity to get the whole family involved in getting active!
6 Different Races:
11 Feb, 16 Apr, 18 Jun, 9 Jul, 6 Aug, 29 Oct

Terry Fox Run 2010 – 2016
For the last 6 years SHAPE UP has entered a Team in the Terry Fox event to raise money for cancer research. 2 years ago we moved the event to Greely and participation and support has grown every year. Our fund-raising now exceeds $30,000.
We plan to continue this event for many years and hope it will become part of the annual Greely Calendar.
Sunday Sept 18th, 2016
Last year SHAPE Up brought the Terry Fox run to Greely, for the first time. Already Jewel Radio have signed for the day, along with Councilor George Darouze and his office staff, and several local hockey teams.
Come along and help us make this an even bigger success this year.

HOW TO MAKE A DIRECT DONATION TO OUR EVENT:
For the fourth year SHAPE UP is entering a Team in the Terry Fox Run. It runs on September 14th, Sunday, at 11am, from Manotick Arena. We started off with a team of 7, and last year had close to 20. Lets make this year the biggest, and most successful one so far! It is always far more fun going for a run when you have a goal in mind. Make this your goal. Free run sessions from Andy Shields park, after some Thursday night Boot Camps. See Facebook for regular updates. Registration link: Terry Fox Run Team 562819
So, who knew running could be SO much fun, so colourful and require SO much showering afterwards to remove the mess! For the first time in June 2014 Shape Up entered a 30 strong team to the Run and Dye, all ages, and we had a BLAST! Check out the Gallery for a few pics. We will definitely be doing it again, and looking out for other equally messy, fun events for the future!
Spartan Sprints are a great starting point to becoming a Spartan. The muddy 5+ Km / 15+ OBSTACLE Sprint is fun for everyone from beginners to seasoned athletes. The shorter Sprint presents plenty for the hardcore Elite to test themselves against while giving new Spartans a good start to their Trifecta!
The half-marathon is challenging and always great fun. Winning time for the Open Female category was 1:14:04.8! Think you can do better? Why not join us and see!
